About · the studio

meet margo zoeller.

Margo (she/her) calls herself “the proud Filipina-American designer behind Malaya Floral,” an all-inclusive floral studio based in Charlotte, NC.

She started the studio to prove flowers “don’t have to be soft and delicate.” Representation matters to her, so the studio is built as a place where everyone feels seen and celebrated, with diversity “in both flowers and love stories.”

The work is modern, fresh and unexpected: designs that let you show your own style, with personality and “a bit of beautiful chaos.”

“let’s do the damn thing”

How Margo signs off the letter on her own site.

The name

malayà is Tagalog for free, independent, chosen to reflect Margo’s heritage.

Before flowers: healthcare.

Then: weekends as a wedding planner, then full-time planning.

Then: her own studio, founded in fall 2022, as she told CanvasRebel in 2023.
